By creating an account or using The Parallel Exchange ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

The Parallel Exchange is a mobile marketplace that enables users to:

• List goods and services they want to trade
• Browse listings from other users in their local area
• Message other users to arrange trades
• Rate and review trading partners

We do not facilitate monetary transactions. All trades are direct exchanges between users.

3. Account Requirements

• You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service
• You must provide accurate information during registration
• You must verify your identity via email, Apple ID, or Google account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• One account per person; multiple accounts are not permitted

You agree NOT to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• List illegal items or services
• Use the platform for monetary transactions or sales
• Spam or send unsolicited messages
• Attempt to circumvent security features
• Create fake accounts or impersonate others
• Scrape or collect data from the platform

6. Prohibited Items

The following items and services may NOT be listed:

• Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia
• Weapons, firearms, or ammunition
• Stolen property
• Counterfeit or pirated goods
• Adult or sexually explicit content
• Hazardous materials
• Live animals
• Items that require special licenses to transfer

7. Trading Safety

The Parallel Exchange is not responsible for the actions of users. All trades are conducted at your own risk. We recommend:

• Meeting in well-lit, public locations
• Bringing a friend to meetups
• Inspecting items before completing a trade
• Reporting suspicious behavior immediately

8. Ratings and Reviews

• Reviews must be honest and based on actual trade experiences
• Do not post reviews for trades that did not occur
• Do not post reviews in exchange for any form of compensation
• We may remove reviews that violate these terms

9. Content Ownership

• You retain ownership of content you create (listings, photos, reviews)
• By posting content, you grant us a license to display it on our platform
• You may only post content you have the right to share
• We may remove content that violates these terms

10. Premium Features

We offer optional paid features including:

• Featured listings with enhanced visibility
• Boost packs for temporary promotion
• Premium membership with additional benefits

All purchases are final. Premium features are for personal use only.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Receive multiple reports from other users
• Attempt to abuse our systems

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

12. Disclaimers

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties
• We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed
• We are not responsible for disputes between users
• We do not verify the condition or authenticity of listed items

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Parallel Exchange shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
